A pint sized alpine classic near the Grand Montets cable car station, with some of the most dramatic views in the range from it’s summit.

From the Grand Montets cable car station, it’s a short hike across the glacier to the foot of the NW Ridge. Getting onto the ridge can sometimes be difficult, especially when it’s icy. Once on the route, a series of obstacles present themselves – scrambling terrain, snow crests, traverses, steeper rock pitches – which all require quick assessment and appropriate choice of techniques in order to climb efficiently.
